At the moment, Grandwview Beach is private. There has been alot of controversary over this the past year. The owner (s) who own the actual entrance to the beach has asked that no one come to the beach unless they are a homeowner of Grandview. There have been lots of blog posts, FB talk and press about this whole topic. As of now, you can access the nature preserve on the other side. You can just park on the street. Warning, bring bug repellent

seems as though the people in charge of promoting this event could have done a little better job-a map of the parade route in some of the promos would have been helpful, since these street names fairly new. not everyone is familiar with them by name-coliseum is the only one easily recognizable

I used to go to Grandview Beach before all those houses were built and wanted to take my daughter and grandson their to take some pictures on the beach….Is the beach now private? If not where do you park to walk down to the beach….I know the sign is there to pick up your trash, but I don’t know where to park if it is still allowed to go there….Thanks if anyone knows?

Hi Jack,

From what I understand, Salt Ponds has a pool that was talked about having it removed to add more condos a few years ago. That, obviously did not happen and there has been no talk of it since. There are lots down there, however, they are owned by homeowners and not a builder. If the homeowner decides to build, then, yes there will be some new homes up. But if they choose to let their lot sit, then no. In short, at this point in time, no talk of building in Salt Ponds and The Pointe at Salt Ponds is out there.

I am the cheer coach for a new local Pop Warner football and cheer team in Hampton and would love to be profiled on Hampton Talks. Pop Warner has a long history in the U.S. and many prfessional football players started with Pop Warner.
